Hark, the Trumpets Sing

I found this poem under website drafts–guess I forgot to publish it! Better now than never :).

“For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?”
(I Corinthians 14:8)

Groom come get your bride
In the dead of dark
Steal her away, pray
She is prepared, pray

She has awaited your coming
Pray you do not catch her
With foreign loves

Catch her as a thief in her tent
Carry her away
And as you seal her for yours
Reveal the final script

1,000 feasts of days
Hark, the angels singing
And let peace ring
